About Human Care Science Doctoral Degree Program

Ph.D. in Human Care Science

Purpose

This program aims to develop future University faculty members, researchers, highly specialized professionals, educator, who have multidisciplinary skills for solving issues related to human care and support, the ability to new innovation and creatively from the viewpoint of an academic integration of specialized fields such as education, psychology, welfare, medicine, nursing, health science, etc.

Desired human resources development

This program focuses on the development and generation of future human resources personnel who have advanced specialized knowledge about people’s problems and issues, and who have acquired research efficiency, skills for solving problems, required methods and skills related to human care and support, and advanced specialized knowledge and proficiency in concern to guidance and supervision.

Career after completion

There are possibilities to be engaged as professional education researchers, researchers at international organizations, leaders, and practitioners of specialized organizations involved in support in the field of human care science at universities and research institutions both in Japan and overseas.

  8. Knowledge of ethical issues: Sound and appropriate knowledge on ethics for researchers in the field of human care science, and in-depth and extensive ethical knowledge about a particular field of study
  9. Applicability skill of multidisciplinary knowledge: The ability to practically apply and implement the multidisciplinary knowledge and technology related to human care science to solving contemporary and future issues
Curriculum policy

Our primary curriculum policy is to actively collaborate with public health degree program to develop integrated multidisciplinary expertise, advanced research skills, ethics, and problem-solving capability related to human care sciences under the concomitant and simultaneous education and research guidance from the faculty members in the human science, health and sports sciences, and medicine.

Desired applicants

Holding a deep interest and attention in human care-related sciences and problems and willingness to work on scientific elucidation and problem- solving from a multidisciplinary perspective. In addition, our program wishes to select the potential candidates interested in aiming to solve various global issues through advanced specialized knowledge and technology, and finally serves and contributes to Japan and overseas.

Admission selection policy

The selection will be conducted based on the comprehensive evaluation through written tests related to specialization area and English proficiency, and the oral examinations based on research plans, focusing on the ability of research, practice, and international cooperation.
